Certified performance
Our investment in in-house flammability testing helps seat manufacturers certify complete seating systems for new build, refurbishment and upgrade programmes. Muirhead leather and BioPRO® foam are certified as a combined system to EN45545-2:2020 fire safety requirements.
For specifiers and manufacturers, this supports confident material selection, and assurance of proven system performance. Our UKAS-accredited testing laboratory carries out FAA 25.853 Vertical Burn and ABD0031 Smoke Density and Toxicity testing (BS EN ISO/IEC 17025) and supports full seat construction testing to EN45545-2 and EN16989.
Supplying the majority of European seat makers and vehicle manufacturers, Muirhead receives regular repeat specifications from operators and designers across all passenger transport modes. (Full ECE R118 compliance, FMVSS302, certification to R118.03 annex 6, 7 and 8.)
And while we provide a market-leading warranty, most of our customers find that their leather endures well beyond that point.
