Achieving net zero across our manufacturing operations

We’re pleased to announce that, following a long term focus on reducing environmental impact across Scottish Leather Group, we have achieved net zero greenhouse gas emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2.

This achievement reflects more than twenty years of sustained progress, demonstrating how carbon can be decoupled from manufacturing within a traditionally energy intensive sector.

Over time, this has been advanced through improvements in energy systems, including the recovery of energy from process waste through our Thermal Energy Plant and the introduction of on site renewable energy generation.

Together, these changes have redefined how energy is produced and used within our manufacturing processes, supporting the development of lower impact leather solutions across aviation, passenger transport and interiors.

Beyond our own operations we continue to work closely with suppliers across our supply chain to reduce Scope 3 emissions and strengthen our understanding of impact.
