The launch of parent company, Scottish Leather Group's 2026 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report provides a detailed overview of the actions, investments and innovations helping to drive greater transparency and sustainability across our business.
Marking 23 years of open, voluntary reporting, the report demonstrates how long-term commitment, independently verified data and continual improvement continue to support our customers' ambitions to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.
Backed by data, not claims
Transparency has been at the heart of Scottish Leather Group's approach for more than two decades.
The 2026 ESG Report details progress across a range of environmental, social and governance priorities, using independently verified data and reference to forthcoming UK Sustainability Reporting Standards. By measuring performance and openly reporting results year after year, we can better understand our impact, identify areas for improvement and demonstrate meaningful progress.
For customers across aviation, passenger transport, marine, upholstery and custom projects, this provides confidence that sustainability is being approached with rigour, accountability and evidence.
Continuing to invest in lower carbon solutions
This year's report highlights significant progress against Scottish Leather Group's 5-Year Plan, including the achievement of net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions in leather manufacturing operations.
It also details continued investment in renewable energy, climate resilience and supply chain engagement, alongside ongoing progress towards longer-term Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments through to 2050.
These actions form part of a broader commitment to reducing environmental impact while ensuring the long-term resilience of our business and supply chain.
Innovation that creates new possibilities
The report also highlights the opening of a new BioPRO® foam manufacturing facility in Glasgow.
Made using the collagen co-product of leather manufacturing, BioPRO® represents another step forward in material innovation. Together with Muirhead leather, it supports the development of integrated seating solutions for demanding transport environments where durability, comfort, safety and environmental performance all matter.
This investment reflects a longstanding focus on finding new ways to maximise resource efficiency and create value from materials that might otherwise go unused.
Supporting our customers' sustainability ambitions
The report confirms that Scottish Leather Group continues to produce the world's lowest carbon leather, independently verified at 8kg CO₂e/m².
Combined with industry-leading traceability and responsible sourcing practices, this helps our customers make informed material choices and support their own environmental objectives.
As expectations around sustainability continue to evolve, transparency, innovation and measurable progress remain essential.
