The opening of Scottish Leather Group’s new BioPRO foam facility in Glasgow marks an important step in strengthening our capability to support demanding interior applications across passenger transport and other high‑performance environments.
The dedicated 75,000 sq. ft site has been carefully restored and adapted to support the design and manufacture of BioPRO, our protein based, recoverable moulded foam developed for safety critical and long‑life applications.
The building has been part of the Group’s manufacturing history for more than 150 years and has now been adapted to serve a new production purpose.
For customers, the new site supports BioPRO being produced at scale, reinforcing our integrated seating and interior solutions. Bringing foam production together with our existing leather and cover expertise enables a more joined up approach supporting consistency and performance across complex programmes.
Alongside recent investment in certified aviation manufacturing capability and expanded rail certification, it supports a more complete, internally managed approach to supplying critical components for high duty environments.
This new manufacturing operation sharpens how we develop and deliver BioPRO as interior demands continue to evolve across passenger transport and beyond.
